Specialized Programs
The program design at Healthcore is centered on a holistic and integrated approach to rehabilitation and wellness. All of the effective, high-quality programs at Healthcore are based on clinical research, take in account the “whole person,” and are taught by specialists in their profession. Clients are made an active participant, empowered through education and mind body awareness, to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
Healthy Living Program:
The program is tailored to each client’s own dietary habits, lifestyle and medical needs. These programs include a complete physical and nutritional evaluation. After a comprehensive analysis, the client is provided with a personalized nutrition or weight management plan combined with a balanced exercise or rehabilitation program including Pilates, cardio and weight training.
Sports Performance:
Wendy has worked with numerous athletes using Pilates techniques and she believes the training is phenomenal for not only elite athletes but also the weekend warrior. Pilates exercise has been proven effective to enhance sports performance and to prevent injuries. Wendy also has additional Pilates training for rotational sports. She participates regularly in USTA tennis and has found Pilates has improved her game.
Pilates for Cancer Survivors
Wendy has extensive experience in treating cancer survivors throughout all stages of treatment. Pilates excels in the mind–body connection, postural re-education and muscle-balancing necessary to recover from the physiological and psychological side effects of cancer treatment. In addition, the gentle and non-impact features of Pilates make it a great rehab and wellness tool for cancer survivors
Pilates for Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a major public health threat affecting 55% of the population over the age of 50. One half of women and a quarter of men will have an osteoporosis-related fracture in their lifetime. Modified Pilates is a safe, bone-building, strengthening exercise program effective for clients with low bone density.
Pre/Post-Natal Pilates
Wendy has worked with many pre/post natal women for both their rehabilitation and wellness needs. The gentle and non-impact features of Pilates make it a safe and beneficial form of exercise during pregnancy. Pilates is very adaptable and exercises can be modified as your body and abilities change. Pilates will also help your body regain its shape and tone and restrengthen muscles that have been weakened during your pregnancy.
